The biggest problem we face with the mouse is mouse delay. You might know it by many names, like input delay or mouse lag. Even during normal use. And if we play games like FPS games—Valorant, Call of Duty—or perform any tasks, we experience problems with the mouse.

First, let’s talk about Windows. When you use a mouse in Windows and press any button, you do press it, but it happens late. Whether it’s a right-click or you have a gaming mouse, this problem occurs.

To fix this delay problem, we will use a tool called X-Mouse Button Control. I will also share the best settings for it. But before that, let’s understand the problem in gaming.
When we play games, most of the time we press the fire button or the scope button. We do press it, but it happens late. You might say, “No, I don’t experience late presses.” The reason you don’t feel it is that you have become used to it, and because of this, your enemy kills you faster. Even if you pressed the button earlier, they kill you before your press registers.
How to Fix Mouse Delay with X-Mouse Tool
To fix this problem, you need to download a tool called X-Mouse Button Control, which you will find linked in the black button below. After that, the settings you need to apply inside the tool are shown in the screenshots below. You have to apply these settings.
